GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 644693
Use a more "mobile" version of the telephone icon
Last modified: 2013-07-01 14:37:40 UTC
Created attachment 183318 [details] screenshot of the two icons currently used Whenever a contact is connected from a phone, Empathy displays a small (symbolic?) icon right below it in the contact list ; maybe Empathy could use a more mobile-ish icon, because the current-one shows an "old" phone, which makes me think more of a phonecall-able contact. Maybe it could use the icon that appears on hover (that would add consistency too).
We are currently displaying the ☎ icon as a workaround. When we wrote this code, it was pretty hard to display a GdkPixbuf in the cell renderer so we choosed to display a UTF-8 char instead. Switching to GtkCellArea (bug #637139) should allow us to fix that.

Sorry about the noise, didn't mean to do that.

Empathy now uses a mobile icon instead. Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use. By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME. Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.
