GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 626620
Log In button is not enabled after all details are entered while creating IRC account
Last modified: 2010-08-12 10:25:48 UTC
Forwarded from https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/615081 When I try to add a freenode IRC chat account, the log in button is not enabled. It is necessary to change the network to something else and then get back to freenode. Steps to reproduce: Go to Edit > Accounts Click the Add button Select the IRC protocol (don't change the network, it should be left as Freenode) Fill the textfields (log in button is disabled, see attachment) Workaround: In order to enable the log in button, change the network to something else than Freenode and then back.
Created attachment 167584 [details] [review] Patch This patch fixes this bug.
Just in case if the bug description may not be that clear: as bug 625675 was committed. I pulled that patch and build empathy 2.31.6 with it in that case GIMPnet was the default IRC network and the problem was there too. i.e. login button is greyed out unless you switch to another network and then select it back.
Thanks for the patch. I pushed a simpler version to master. commit cabd8bb506a891fd75ba2a9edb43783e479161ab Author: Guillaume Desmottes <guillaume.desmottes@collabora.co.uk> Date: Thu Aug 12 12:24:39 2010 +0200 widget-irc: call update_server_params in setup so buttons are updated (#626620) Thanks to Bilal Akhtar for the original patch. This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
