GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 619133
eye of gnome does not open files depending on name/extension
Last modified: 2010-05-19 21:46:49 UTC
Originally reported as Ubuntu bug #582942: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eog/+bug/582942 changing the extension of a jpg file to png makes eye of gnome refuse to open it. e.g. the well known warty-final-ubuntu.png files do not open because they are jpegs. renaming the file to somthing else (preferrably *.jpg) resolves the problem. filetype detection should not depend on the name/extension. expected behavoir: show the picture actual behavior: strange message (see screenshot) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: eog 2.30.0-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-22.33-generic 2.6.32.11+drm33.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-22-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Wed May 19 18:51:23 2010 SourcePackage: eog
