GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 615532
Rhythmbox does not allow to play a song twice in a playlist
Last modified: 2010-12-31 03:05:40 UTC
I use rhythmbox to pass music for tango dances, and it is a real problem that it does not allow to play twice the same theme in the same night (playlist). For instance, I have .m3u playlist with all the tandas I have ever used and, when I try to load it in rhythmbox, all songs are deleted except the first. Also, when I use cortinas, I need to copy it in a directory with different names so that rhythmbox allows me to introduce it in the playlist. I'm not sure why playlists don't allo duplicates. While I see why duplicates can, or maybe even should, be skipped when playing from the general library, which they are not BTW, imported playlists containing dupes should be respected and not silently trimmed. I have looked for a gconf-editor or normal preference to control it, to no avail. At least one should be able to choose if playlists allo to play several times the same song or not.
Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 145276 ***
I came here because I am a tango DJ and I want to add cortinas to my playlist. Imagine my surprise when I found another tango DJ here! Please take this as another "vote" for the priority of the duplicates-allowed feature. It's going to be harder for me to use Rhythmbox without it.
