This is a tracker bug, the dependencies include bugs that need to be fixed before a proof-of-concept implementation could be made.

Note that this is not the place to discuss whether or not this is a good idea, but a minimal list of requirements for the idea to be considered.

Tracker would be used to request metadata extraction from music files, and storing the metadata in its store. rhythmdb would be a "shim" on top of Tracker's helper libraries.
