Since video mixing (ie: compositing, fades/crossfades) was implemented in the pitivi 0.13.4 release cycle, playback performance has dropped significantly. This becomes very apparent when you have more than one clip playing at the same time (ie: two clips on two different layers), whether one is transparent or not: frames are dropped, etc.

I'm not sure what can be done for now, but filing this bug report so that we can point users to this, have a reminder, and so that it shows up with the "perf" tag.

Reopened since 629784 was about the passthrough (which was implemented)... but videomixer still sucks.
