Description Bernhard Koenig 2010-01-28 01:38:06 UTC
My banshee stopped playing radio stations, it just stays idle when I click on it. I wanted to give you a debug but the strange thing it that radio stations play fine when I run banshee from console. The debug I get is:

[Debug 02:35:17.520] Playing Radio Stream - http://89.238.146.142:7300
[Debug 02:35:17.522] Player state change: Idle -> Loading
[Debug 02:35:18.298] Player state change: Loading -> Loaded
[Debug 02:35:18.308] Player state change: Loaded -> Playing

So it seems that when I run banshee from Ubuntu menu and then click on a radio station, it never leaves "idle", maybe it gets stuck "loading"? Again, this is only if I run banshee from Ubuntu menu. Please point me to the right direction.

Correction: the problem appears when I run banshee from dockbarX:

1) install dockbarX, pin banshee to it
2) run banshee from dockbarX
3) click on a radio station

Result: radio station will remain idle. Hmm, but banshee runs fine otherwise, is it a bug in dockbarX?

Actually, I found this bug here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dockbar/+bug/500171

Could this be a reason why radios don't start in banshee?

Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find.

You're right, Banshee doesn't play radio stations when it's started from the root of the filesystem (/).
