Description Shaun McCance 2009-08-31 23:35:45 UTC
Using the Search tab of the Previous Conversations window. When you perform a search and select a resulting conversation, Empathy selects the matching text in the conversation view. This is nice, but selections are too transient. Would it be possible to do a more persistent highlighting instead? Something that doesn't disappear as soon as you click.

This would have the added bonus of allowing all occurences of the matching text to be highlighted. And it wouldn't disappear as soon as you select some text in some other application because of GTK+'s absurdly strict interpretation of PRIMARY selection.

I'm just noticing that this does work in Empathy 2.24.1. But it doesn't seem to work on git master right now.

The new log viewer doesn't highlight the text any more; it should.
