GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 585131
Subtitle support.
Last modified: 2013-09-19 19:09:04 UTC
Please describe the problem: In order to get the clips off my DVD camcorder, I ran: mplayer -dumpfile chapter3.m2ps -dumpstream dvd:// -chapter 3-3 etc (I actually used a python script to do this). The resulting files play fine in Totem (GStreamer backend), but when I try to import them into PiTiVi, I get the following error: Steps to reproduce: 1. Either follow the above steps, or try the attached file. Actual results: Problem : Got unknown stream type : video/x-dvd-subpicture Extra information : You are missing an element to handle this media type. Expected results: It to import. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:
Example file is here: http://60.234.40.20/~whiteho1/chapter17.m2ps (6.1MB)
This is a more generic issue (there actually is a decoder for that format (and many other subtitle formats, just not available). The problem is really how to handle subtitles in pitivi. Changing the title accordingly.
Would it be possible to import the clip without the subtitles until the issue is resolved? I don't mind losing the subtitles.
