GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 582840
REGISTER requests are not going through SIP outbound proxy
Last modified: 2009-10-11 19:29:48 UTC
Please describe the problem: The PC in which ekiga installed is sitting in a LAN. So it has to pass all SIP requests through a SIP Proxy. I have given the SIP Proxy address in Preferences->Sip Settings->Outbound Proxy. But using wireshark I observed that Ekiga is sending all REGISTER requests directely to registrar without using outbound proxy. But all INVITE requests are getting send correctely to proxy. People who are inside a LAN can not register to a SIP server in internet because of this bug. Steps to reproduce: 1. Make sure that registrar and proxy address are different 2. Try to register 3. See the packets in wireshark Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:
I can not reproduce this.
What version of opal do you both use?
I reported this bug in Ekiga version 3.2.0 which comes as default with ubuntu 9.04. Now I am using 3.2.4 and this problem is not there. So I think this bug can be closed. However my personnal opinion is that, each account should be allowed to have it's own proxy. Not a common outbound proxy. Thanks for checking the bug.
