GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 581881
In presentation mode, problems to change pages with cursor keys
Last modified: 2009-06-09 08:11:52 UTC
this report has been filed here: https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/373741 "I'm using evince 2.26.1-0ubuntu1 and in presentation mode I use cursor keys to change pages. I have some problems changing page and have to press cursor key twice before page changes. This always occurs when I want to pass from second to third page after having go back up from third to second page. " this is reproducible with any pdf here. Could it be related to bug 516749? Thanks,
Yes, it should be something like that. Also it can be related to the bug 524273. We definitely need a document to try to reproduce this issue.
Reproducible with document at: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14777258/CHUCKIE%20TAYLOR.pdf
I'm not sure if it's the same bug, or a different one. In presentation mode, when going forward, the last page is not shown, instead the black slide saying the presentation is finished is displayed. From this black slide, going backward shows the last page. This happens with every documents I have with me, included the one given in the URL previously. Reproduced the bug on 2.26.1, both on Ubuntu 32 bits and Mandriva 64 bits. Clicking or using the cursor keys have the same effect.
I can confirm the issue Eric Piel reports: The last page is not shown in presentation mode. It seems indeed related to the original issue: At some time (near the end of the presentation, but not necessarily at the last slide), one has to press the cursor key/space bar twice to show the next page. I’d guess that one page gets “lost” while evince tracks its state and thus the last page is not shown, as evince thinks it already reached the end. But when going back from the “end of presentation” page, the last page is properly shown.
It should be fixed in git (master and gnome-2-26 branches) now. Thanks for reporting.
