GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 580015
Identify user with his nickname in chat windows
Last modified: 2009-08-03 13:18:57 UTC
In any chat windows (ICQ protocol), user is identified by UIN Any contact is always identified by Nickname. I suggest that user must be identified by Nickname too. Other information:
Does Pidgin properly display such aliases?
Yes. For Example: in a chat windows, using Pidgin, my messages are identified by my alias "Maurizio", but using empathy any of the messages started with my UIN. It's a minor issue, nothing really relevant, it's just that I don't like to see something like "12345678 says: ...." instead of "Maurizio says: ..." or "You says: ..." :)
