GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 566608
"Home page" should be "Start page"
Last modified: 2011-12-12 11:20:17 UTC
In the current Preferences menu there is an option for setting the "Home page", but this option referst to the "start/default page" to be opened by Epiphany. It is not the Epiphany's home page, or my personal home page. Thanks! Other information:
Yeah, this is historical baggage. I have no objections against such a change (but I'd like to get rid of the home page concept anyhow).
I agree too. "home page" is really 90s :-P. Although I didn't used the internet back in the 90s, so I might be wrong.
While "home" and "home page" are certainly overloaded terms, be aware that it's still in common usage in this context-- Firefox 3, IE8 and Safari 3 still call this the "Home Page" too. Would the benefit of changing outweigh the perceived inconsistency for people who use one of those browsers as well? Also, what we would change the "home page" icon to? :)

I'd be in favour of a "Speed dial" feature instead, as default filling of a blank tab or browser window. For reference, see also: http://clarkbw.net/blog/2007/09/07/web-browser-homepage-observations/
We don't have a homepage anymore, closing.
