Description Michael Schmarck 2008-10-28 07:35:00 UTC
I opened a file browser view a folder (where there's a tree view of the folders on the left and the folder content is shown on the right).

By default, symbols are shown - that's fine for the "spatial" view, IMO. Anyway, I changed the view type to "List" by clicking on "Ansicht" -> "Liste" ("View" -> "List" or hitting Ctrl+2).

Now I clicked on some other folder. This folder was then shown again in the symbol view.

I would have liked, that Nautilus would have remembered the "view type" and would have chosen this view type when showing the new folder.

I suppose that Nautilus has chosen "Symbol" view, because that's set in the preferences. I don't want to change the preference, though, because the preference is fine for the way I usually "browse" folders (ie. using the "spatial view").
