GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 556664
Bookmarks can not be saved
Last modified: 2010-01-05 09:04:06 UTC
Please describe the problem: After added some directories to bookmarks, exit the program and enter again, the bookmarks were lost. Steps to reproduce: 1. add some bookmarks 2. exit the program 3. enter the program again Actual results: The bookmarks added were lost! Expected results: I expect the bookmarks are still there Does this happen every time? yes Other information: I am using ubuntu 8.04
Have you bookmarked locations on non-local dirs or mounted devices (like USB, DVD)?
yes, i bookmarked a directory on one of the mounted NTFS partitions.
I can confirm this. workaround: is to navigate to needed place not by selecting disks on the pane, but via full path from root: in ubuntu /media/YourDisk/Your/Directory the issue (or feature) connected to this is that gcmd treats mounted disks somehow outside the context of root, so you can't change to /home if you are browsing mounted disk (selected from gcmd pane)
This problem has been fixed in our software repository. The fix will go into the next software release. Thank you for your bug report.
