GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 555359
evolution can't cancel imap connections, and can't close properly
Last modified: 2012-06-18 10:35:24 UTC
Please describe the problem: If there is a connection problem while retrieving mails using imap, the "cancel" button has no effect : it stills tries to download e-mails, the task is not canceled. As evolution waits for all tasks to be complete, it doesn't close if imap is still trying to retrieve mails. Steps to reproduce: 1. have a connection problem (configure a fake proxy should simulate the problem) 2. retrieve imap mails 3. confirm that "cancel" button doesn't really close the task 4. try to close evolution Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? yes Other information: related to : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/214507
Just go offline in network-manager and evo will close, too
OK, thank you for the information. But this is still not a solution :) There can be an imap connection problem independent of internet connection (typically, everything works except imap server, which takes a long time to respond).
