GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 554678
The documentation still contains fonts://
Last modified: 2013-10-25 23:48:21 UTC
Re-introduce fonts:// really, but I suppose there must have been some reason to remove it, so update the documentation at http://library.gnome.org/admin/system-admin-guide/stable/fontconfig-1.html.en Other information: There is no suitable way to install fonts now (you need the command line, but isn’t Gnome about not needing to use the command line?)
Isn't this a regression of GIO/Gvfs migration? We should first get confirmation from developers about this before updating the documentation.
Also see bug 555215 about getting fonts:// back.
According to the release notes for 2.30, users can install fonts by double clicking them in Nautilus: gnome-font-viewer Install fonts by double clicking them in nautilus http://live.gnome.org/TwoPointTwentynine/ReleaseNotes This was added in GNOME 2.28, but not documented
