GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 540557
smartcard support
Last modified: 2008-12-08 23:46:51 UTC
I've very recently become the happy owner of an OpenPGP smartcard. Using gpg-agent I can use it to authenticate my ssh logins and sign my e-mail and other stuff. However, this would all be much more useful if seahorse-agent supported it directly. In the current state of affairs, I need to completely uninstall seahorse to avoid having it set up the agent in my X session, or alternatively add special workarounds to replace it with gpg-agent during initialisation of my X session. If seahorse supported this, I would be able to sit down at any GNOME system with smartcard reader and use it to connect securely to my servers. Thank you for considering my request.
I have the same problem and the same request if it is possible. You can't use gpg smartcards with seahorse, and you can't enable gpg-agent at the same time, one overrides the other. Thanks a lot Daniele
