GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 531585
Patch to fix anjuta hanging on startup

I've used "map" signal instead of "realize" because "map" seems to work better.

Applied in trunk. Is this a severe bug that effects anjuta/glade in gnome-2-22 ? (i.e. should this be included in a stable bugfix release, people are experiencing these hangs in the field ?).

Ok applied to gnome-2-22 branch so it will be in the next bugfix release.
(In reply to comment #4) > Ok applied to gnome-2-22 branch so it will be in the > next bugfix release. Looking at Glade3 3.4.5 I find that Pavel's patch is missing.
The patch is present in Glade3 3.5.4. Would be nice to have the patch in a bugfix release for Glade3 3.4.x since it affects both GNOME 2.22 and 2.24. Till then we will carry it separately in the Fedora package.
3.4.x is seriously discontinued, 3.6 should be ready for GNOME 2.26. If you really think there is an audience for the 3.4 branch, I need someone else to take care of that branch - I have to get all the 3.6 bugs and features in and I hardly have enough time as it is. ... Looking back at the comments I seem to have said I ported the patch into gnome-2-22 branch, there was a release made by the release team of this branch for the GNOME 2.24 release, its not in the latest stable ? must be my mistake... anyway, I really dont have the time now to pay attention to Glade 3.4.x as I said before - if someone wants to collect some bugfixes and port them to the branch and make a release, please feel free to do so, and let me know about it.
If the distributions can carry the patch, then the problem will be largely reduced. Fedora is doing that: http://cvs.fedoraproject.org/viewvc/rpms/glade3/F-10/
