GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 525950
Evince should not save printer modification
Last modified: 2008-04-03 16:00:20 UTC
Evince 2.20 on Ubuntu Gutsy When I choose to print a document in Evince with different option than usual (like recto-verso, range of pages, ...), Evince should not save this preference. It happens me all the time to print the document in 2faces/page because I forgot to unset this option although I rarely use it. Worst : I wanted to print a simple 4 pages PDF and it didn't work. It tooks me 10 minutes to realize that Evince was trying to print the range 9-17 (which didn't exist) only because I printed with this range last time I used Evince, one week before ! Also, I think that Evince should not allow to modify all the options exposed by the printer. If you want to use this option, you can add or modify a new printer with the printing config tool, it makes no sense and it adds a lot of complexity to allow that in Evince. It's the same if you want to use very often the recto/verso : add a printer with recto/verso as the default.
