GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 517291
nautlus tree view show (empty) folder in tree
Last modified: 2008-03-16 21:54:32 UTC
Please describe the problem: Hi if you use tree view in sidebar panel and you choose (show only directory) nautilus show directory tree and and a label (empty) when you are in a folder without subfolder. i think i shouldn't show nothing. Steps to reproduce: 1. navigate with tree view sidebar ( show only folder option) 2. find a folder with only file Actual results: show label (empty) Expected results: don't show noting Does this happen every time? yes Other information:
Created attachment 105531 [details] example (Vuota) is tranlation for (Empty)
I think this is intentional, you have to make it clear whether a folder is empty. Another way of doing this could be hiding the expander if the folder is empty, but it could be unclear to the user and you could potentially make a lot of I/O when opening a folder (you have to check for every subfolder whether it has files inside). So my opinion is that this is NOTABUG.
...potentially make a lot of I/O when opening a folder (you have to check for every subfolder whether it has files inside)... what do you do to write "empty"?
Do you think i must close this bug?
