Hi Andre! > #: ../plugins/macro/macro-util.c:59 > "%Y-%m-%d" > #: ../plugins/macro/macro-util.c:72 > "%Y" > okay, strftime formats? shall i localize them here? a comment would be very > appreciated. I added a comment here though I am still not sure whether it should be translated or not. Think of a copyright note where you would rather want to have the (american) 2007-11-18 rather than the german 18.11.2007 though the rest of the UI is localised. Comments? > #. TODO: should handle other display modes as well... > #. Translators: This is yyyy-mm-dd. > #: ../plugins/gtodo/egg-datetime.c:1255 > #, c-format > "%04d-%02d-%02d" > nice. what shall i do with it? localize? if so, how? :-) WTF, this is libegg - I have no idea > #: ../plugins/macro/macros.xml.h:1 > "C" > #: ../plugins/macro/macros.xml.h:26 > "cvs_header" > #: ../plugins/macro/macros.xml.h:34 > "if...else" > and so on... shall remain english always, perhaps? shall this really be marked > for translation? These are the names of the macros - it might be useful to localise some of them, you could e.g. use the ellipses in "if...else" ;-) In general translate them though they could have better names in the original text. "C" is the programming language... > > > > #: ../plugins/macro/macros.xml.h:23 > "azerty" > WT...? is this a keyboard layout? *shrug* No, it's bullshit - fixed! > > > > #: ../plugins/gtodo/egg-datetime.c > "Lower limit second" > "Upper limit second" > /Year/Part and so on > ???? what's that? translator comment welcome :) These are libegg properties, simply ignore them! Thanks!
all the strings in ../plugins/subversion/anjuta-subversion.glade with that "Subversion: " prefix - is that really required? lots of those strings exist already without that prefix, could it be removed?
avoid sentence splitting, and perhaps merge those strings: "Completed... unsuccessful\n" "Completed... unsuccessful with " "Completed... successful\n" "Completed... successful" ../plugins/gtodo/interface.c: all those menu item strings starting with "/Item/" - how to translate that properly? #: ../plugins/profiler/gprof-call-graph-view.c:344 #: ../plugins/profiler/gprof-call-graph-view.c:352 #: ../plugins/profiler/gprof-call-graph-view.c:360 "Self" what self? #: ../plugins/profiler/gprof-flat-profile-view.c: "Self Seconds" "Self ms/call" "Total ms/call"
#: ../plugins/project-import/project-import.c:329 "A file named \"%s\" already exists. Do you want to replace it ?" bah, whitespaces in front of punctuation.
#: ../plugins/project-manager/plugin.c:599 "Are you sure you want to remove the following from project?\n \n" following what?
#: ../plugins/project-manager/plugin.c:703 "Failed to retried URI info of %s: %s" perhaps "retrieve"? "URI is link" in :701 is also strange
#: ../plugins/project-wizard/druid.c:177 "Confim the following information:\n \n" typo in "confirm"
#: ../plugins/project-wizard/druid.c:514 "File \"%s\" already exists. Do you want to overwrite it ?" whitespaces in front of punctuation.

It does not sound very french but I think everybody understand what is it. I don't know how it is called in german.
(In reply to comment #14) > #: ../plugins/debug-manager/anjuta-debug-manager.glade.h:42 > "_Pass count:" > #: ../plugins/debug-manager/breakpoints.c:1597 > "Pass count" > what's that? This is the number of time that the program executes the line where a breakpoint is located. It is used as a list header, so I have tried to find a quite short name. > #: ../plugins/debug-manager/locals.c:105 > "Locals" > how to translate properly? This is the list of local variables. It is not implemented yet, but I will probably add a list of global variables with the name "Globals" later.
(In reply to comment #4) (In reply to comment #7) (In reply to comment #8) (In reply to comment #9) (In reply to comment #10) (In reply to comment #11) I have fixed all these bugs (the easiest ones) in svn trunk. Thanks for reporting them.
This bug report contains many strings to fix. I hope none of them will be lost. One more: This string is marked for translation but the string still in English in Anjuta #: ../plugins/project-import/anjuta-project-import.plugin.in.h:2 msgid "Project From Existing Sources" This bug is common to other ones.
The dialog, displayed when you click Add in the task manager, still in English too.
These strings must begin by an uppercase #. tb for highlighting due today #: ../plugins/gtodo/preferences.c:145 msgid "items that are due today" msgstr "tâche(s) à effectuer aujourd'hui" #. tb for highlighting due #: ../plugins/gtodo/preferences.c:151 msgid "items that are past due" msgstr "tâche(s) dont l'échéance est dépassée" #. tb for highlighting in x days #: ../plugins/gtodo/preferences.c:157 #, c-format msgid "items that are due in the next %i days" msgstr "tâche(s) dont l'échéance est de %i jour(s)"
Assigning to Seb since he knows better which ones are applied.
comment #2, comment #3, comment #5, comment #6 I fixed these things apart from #: ../plugins/profiler/gprof-flat-profile-view.c: "Self Seconds" "Self ms/call" "Total ms/call" @jrligget: Could you please add translator comment there?
Wow, too many translation issues. Easy to get lost. Continuing in bug report #507921.
Sorry, bug #507921
comment #12, comment #13, comment #14, comment #19, comment #20: Fixed these issues besides the valgrind things. I am not exactly sure why the translations in comment #18 is not working. @jrliggett: Can you please add translator comments to the valgrind stuff in comment

Thanks for all the great i18n bugs. We really appreciate them (it's hard to get such bug reports).
Created attachment 102359 [details] [review] Comments to accompany confusing strings This should help with the confusion about the fields in the profiler views.
(In reply to comment #2) > all the strings in ../plugins/subversion/anjuta-subversion.glade with that > "Subversion: " prefix - is that really required? lots of those strings exist > already without that prefix, could it be removed? No, the prefix isn't really necessary. When I put in the new plugin I was trying to be consistent with what Johnannes already had in there. If you'd prefer I'll send in a patch to get rid of it.
Created attachment 102360 [details] [review] Get rid of the "Subversion:" prefix for window titles
Thanks James! Already fix the "Subversion:" stuff myself before so only commited the other patch! Everything should be fixed now - please reopen if you think we missed something.
