GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 363592
Ability to undo tab closing
Last modified: 2007-08-01 07:47:21 UTC
Ffx 2.0 introduces the ability to undo tab closing by hitting "Ctrl-Shift-T". Quoting Joe Shaw: "I accidentally close the wrong tab all the time because I am an idiot. Shift-Control-T reopens the last closed tab, and all of my state is preserved. Hooray." I am also an idiot and would LOVE this enhancement. Other information:
There's an extension for this but there are problems like flash still running or videos still playing in the closed tab. Making undo-tab just a 'open a new tab with the latest url I closed' would not be the same as undo because it will not take you to the state where you closed the tab, but it will take you to a new instance of the closed tab url.
You could try to look at how firefox2 implements this.
