Opened by marnixk@yahoo.com (reporter, points: 0) 2006-10-29 12:58 UTC [reply] What were you doing when the application crashed? In my CD/DVD player I have an audio cd on a CDRW disc, I'm playing it with Sound Juicer. When I select the 'Audio Disc' node in Nautilus, I get the following error: "cdda:///dev/hdc" is not a valid location If I expand the Audio Disc node, I get this crash.

last trace (comment #31) differs from the original trace for this report. however, the first report for the trace is Bug 320020 -- copying the useful information there. Thank you for the trace, but it is from a differen problem.please try to reproduce the crash for the problem of this report. please attach new traces as attachments (so it does not have the chance to confuse our trace finding tools)

The comment to reproduce it from Bug 380744 What were you doing when the application crashed? put a music cd into a dvd/cd r/w drive (PCI). I been using an external DVD Writer (USB trough a PCMCIA card) with KAudioCreator before this crash without problems.

trace in comment #85 matches the problem in bug 320020. excellent trace, copying information there. I get the feeling this might be a different bug triggered in the same way as this one. Thank you GL, but the trace differs from the original one on top of this report. also, and this applies to anybody, please add new traces as text files as an attachment to this report (prevents our internal tools from detecting false duplicates).

130 duplicates.... blocker. Dear reporters of this crasher, could you please help fixing this by installing some debugging packages [1], start nautilus as normal, and try to reproduce the crash, if possible? Once bug-buddy pops up, you can find the stacktrace in the "Details" section, now containing way more information. Please copy that stacktrace and paste it as a comment here. Thanks a lot in advance for helping to get this fixed! [1] debugging packages for nautilus, glib, gtk, pango, gnome-vfs and libgnome(ui), as far as provided by your distributor. Fedora Core 6 or SuSE 10.2: nautilus-debuginfo, glib2-debuginfo, gtk2-debuginfo, pango-debuginfo, gnome-vfs2-debuginfo, libgnome-debuginfo, and libgnomeui-debuginfo. Ubuntu 6.10: nautilus-dbg, libglib2.0-0-dbg, libgtk2.0-0-dbg, libpango1.0-0-dbg, libgnomevfs2-0-dbg, and libgnomeui-0-dbg. Andre, Message #31 (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360543#c31) seems to have a good stack trace. It shouldn't be a NEEDINFO.

Hi. I've installed the debugging symbols according to this list you sent me: Ubuntu 6.10: nautilus-dbg, libglib2.0-0-dbg, libgtk2.0-0-dbg, libpango1.0-0-dbg, libgnomevfs2-0-dbg, and libgnomeui-0-dbg. Synaptic showed me a message saying that some packages did not installed successfully, though. I've reproduced the crash, and this is the trace I've got: Distribution: Ubuntu 6.10 (edgy) Gnome Release: 2.16.1 2006-10-02 (Ubuntu) BugBuddy Version: 2.16.0 Memory status: size: 117723136 vsize: 0 resident: 117723136 share: 0 rss: 34406400 rss_rlim: 0 CPU usage: start_time: 1168006213 rtime: 0 utime: 978 stime: 0 cutime:925 cstime: 0 timeout: 53 it_real_value: 0 frequency: 55 Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/nautilus' Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/i686/cmov/libthread_db.so.1". Thank you! I have the feeling this must be closely related to bug 320020, since we got the last trace at least two times after people installed debugging packages. Both reports are related to audio cds being browsed in nautilus
Hi Having loaded the debugging library's, I then placed a Music CD into cd/dvd writer. Opened Nautilus and clicked on Audio Disk in the tree view pane, and received the following error message. "cdda:///dev/hdc" is not a valid location. Please check the spelling and try again" Clicked the OK button and dialog box closed. Clicked on the down arrow to display directory structure, Nautilus then crashed, Below is the debugging report. Thank you, we have enough good stack traces now. Please do not post any more. I strongly believe we have enough information now for the developers. Thank you for your efforts. I am now absolutely sure that this is a duplicate of bug 320020. It has slightly different traces, depending on the version of Gnome (2.14/2.16.x) that is running.
