Description Javier F. Serrador 2006-10-03 12:58:54 UTC
There are some memos that are present in memo component view, and are not showed using memo pane in calendar component view. Both shold be syncronized.
Comment 1 André Klapper 2006-10-05 07:15:12 UTC
confirming. i see 6 memos in my memo view, but 0 memos in my calendar view.
Comment 2 Milan Crha 2007-07-12 15:09:43 UTC
It depends on a view in the calendar view, isn't it?
You could assign dates to memos, and if you have only day view, then you see memos for that day only, if you've a month view, then you see (probably) more memos, all in this day interval.
I bet on Not-A-Bug.
Comment 3 Jens Knutson 2007-07-12 17:35:48 UTC
I cannot get Evo to show Memos in the calendar view no matter *what* view I use or what date I look at.

And if someone can prove this really is NOTABUG, I'm opening a new bug for this utterly backward behavior. If one customizes the view for Memos in the calendar window, "Filter" isn't even an option.
Comment 4 Jens Knutson 2007-07-12 17:40:55 UTC
I take that back. Milan is right... and I am having a moment of complete disgust for Evo.

One cannot even assign "no date" to Memos. I'll file a separate bug on that later, since this is totally #*$@ing broken behavior. Who wants to NOT see their memos except in an incredibly narrow context?

And sorry for the crappy attitude, I'm still waking up. ;-P
Comment 5 Milan Crha 2007-07-13 14:56:50 UTC
It's ok. Just consider, when you need to see "all" memos, then simply go to Memos window, and in Calendar window, see only those in selected time range.

I see an advantage exactly for this, in actual behavior, because you will not "lost" your "date-related-memos" in a couple of "non-date-memos" in calendar view.

Do you think it makes sense what I wrote?
Comment 6 Jens Knutson 2007-07-14 02:24:58 UTC
Thanks for your response, Milan. I see what you mean, and that's *theoretically* useful. However, there should at least be an *option* to see all of one's memos at once. For example, all my tasks are shown by default - why should it be otherwise for memos?

Maybe the bug I should be filing is on the problem I mentioned that memos cannot be created without a start date assigned to them?
Comment 7 Milan Crha 2007-07-16 08:10:11 UTC
I think you have right, when you will have an option to *not fill* date to memos, then you should see these memos every time. Create new bug and close this one could work, I hope. Feel free to do this.
Comment 8 Milan Crha 2007-07-16 08:14:22 UTC
Just now I found there is a bug #430816 for you. So do you need to close this one?

the patch in bug #466051 allows you to assign a "no date" to Memos..

proposed eds patch

for evolution-data-server;

added new function 'has-start?' without any arguments, which checks if the component has filled start date or not.

Looks fine to me. I haven't tested. Just test and commit Milan.
Comment 14 Milan Crha 2007-11-05 11:30:30 UTC
EDS part committed to trunk. Committed revision 8185.
Evo part committed to trunk. Committed revision 34501.
Comment 15 Milan Crha 2007-12-05 15:31:59 UTC
I tested, but wrongly. My expression in evo part wasn't in correct prefix form, (I think it's that name for it), I wrote it in infix. Really pity.
See bug #501474 for fix of it.
