Description Alexander van Loon 2006-08-16 12:14:21 UTC
One of the new features of what is to become Evo 2.8 is the vertical view in the mail component. This is useful for me as a widescreen user.

I think it is a good idea to implement this for the contacts component as well. I use the "phone list" style for viewing address books. I use a view with four columns, Full Name/Email/Home Phone/Mobile Phone. These four columns don't consume very much of the width of my widescreen monitor, so to the right side of these columns is some unused space. The contact previewer which is currently displayed beneath the contacts in my address books could be moved to occupy this space, so that you would see it on the right side of the screen. This would allow me to see more contacts in the space which was then previously occupied by the contact previewer. This is in similar fashion as the vertical view in mail.

I hope I've explained clearly, I would have posted a screenshot to explain it more easily, but then I would have to blur out all my contacts data.

Bumping versions again.

Interesting. Perhaps this would make sense for Memos and Tasks as well.
