Description Dennis Schäfers 2006-08-03 10:58:04 UTC
Problem:

1: I'm downloading ~10 files from a server, the server "allows" me only 2 files at the same time, the rest of the files are "waiting". The files are listed in the download-dialog the way I chosen them on the website, but I wasn't thinking about which file I want to download first while I was selecting them. I want be able to change the ordering afterwards.

2: My girlfriend is waitng :P - I really have to go in a few seconds, but I have to leave the computer on, cause the files (if I paused them or not) are gone when I close the browser. Downloads (running an paused ones) should be stored and come up when I start the browser next time and be reachable (Go To -> Downloads). The Browser could ask me when I'm close him. "Abort Downloads/Store Downloads"

(This is my first bug-report. I doesn't wrote english for a long time. I'm a USER, when I could code I would do it!!!)

Other information:
Ideas:

1: I want to change the listing to control which file will download next. There should be a "up"/"down"-buttons in the download-dialog which are disabled. When I click on a download in the list the buttons get "colour" to let me change the listing. The first download can't move up (so gray up button) and the last download can't move down (so gray down-button). When 1st or 2nd is already downloading and I put the download on 3rd it should pause and resume when it's on 1st or 2st again (server allows only 2 downloads). I know that when I'm download 10 files from 10 diffrent servers all downloads will start and I don't have that problem, so changing the listing have no effect of the download process. I don't know how to handle with that.

II: I'm not sure if the function already exists. I want that I can "pause" downloads, that works... but when I close the browser the downloads are gone. So the "pause" and running-download should stay in the list of the download dialog when I close the browser. When I start the browser again, the download dialog should pop up when there are running downloads. When there are only paused downloads I want to be able to reach the download-dialog from "go to -> Downloads" and find my paused downloads. So if the downloads are stored when closing the browser, there are ugly part-files on the desktop. why not .hide them that only the "realname.zip" with a clock symbol is seen at the desktop? previewing of (ogg or so files) should be possible in another way.

Thanks for the bug report!

In the future, please try to file separate bugs for separate issues.

Problem 1 is a duplicate of bug 327121.
Problem 2 is a duplicate of bug 162660.

I'm leaving the bug open for now because of the up/down arrow suggestion.
