Description Peter 2006-06-30 14:14:24 UTC
Inserting an audio CD causes it to appear in rhythmbox as a new source (with a nice icon, and an "import" context menu command).

It would be nice if when inserting any data media with musics files (e.g. I have a few mp3 CDs used in my car stereo, or a USB memory stick with ogg files) this could also appear as a new source automatically - so I can listen to the tracks WITHOUT having to import them into the library.

As with an audio CD source, an import context menu would be nice but this just needs to copy the files to the library.

See also bug 128408 comment 21 by James "Doc" Livingston:

And also bug 128408 comment 23 also by James "Doc" Livingston:

As noted by Colin Walters in bug 128408 comment 26

e.g. I might have a music collection on my USB memory stick.

This looks like Bug 154599 which I found by browsing after filing this report.

Sorry - I guess I didn't search hard enough...
