GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 339234
editing of To, Cc, Bcc heavily broken
Last modified: 2008-10-31 13:06:07 UTC
The To, Cc and Bcc fields are broken WRT names containing commas and in that case barely useable at all. Steps to reproduce: * Have a mail sent To: Surname, Firstname <user@host.net> for example, a list Cc'ed. * Reply To All, try removing that previous To recipient. The Cc: field in the composer will look like this: "Surname, Firstname" <user@host.net>, list@server.org When you try to remove anything but the mailing list, moving the cursor right before 'list@', select the unwanted by Shift-Pos1 and try to remove it by Del, nothing is removed. Instead, that stupid logic selects a different part of that string (from comma to comma), dismissing what I explicitely marked. Similar things happen for plain del. Note: There is a related bug somewhere, filed by me prviosuly. That widget should not try to be smart. It is not. *sigh*
yes, bug 322142 :-)
guenther, Im not able to see this in stable/head. Am I trying the wrong way? I Shift-Selelected 'list@' , 'list@server.org' but all of them works for me. Can you help me reproduce it?
Guenther, the comma selection is removed now. Does the bug still holds good?
Guenther, ping
