Description Crispin Flowerday (not receiving bugmail) 2006-01-05 23:17:38 UTC
If you have a folder with lots of email in it (such that you have a scrollbar), and then you select an email in the middle of the folder (so the scrollbar is in the middle). If you now go to another folder, and then back to the first folder the list of emails in the folder jumps about while it tries to get the selected row visible.

The list of emails should appear immediately with the correct row selected and visible without any jumping around.

(2.5.4-0ubuntu4)

crispin, do you also think that this is a duplicate of bug 255303?
Comment 2 Crispin Flowerday (not receiving bugmail) 2006-01-06 11:53:03 UTC
It is certainly similar to bug 255303, but not quite the same, in my case I am not complaining about it forgetting the scrollbar position, it is just that in bringing the selected message into view the scrollbar appears to jump around rather than starting off in the right position.

However, it might be that a solution to bug 255303 solves this too.

Bumping version to a stable release.
Comment 4 André Klapper 2012-08-06 16:30:50 UTC
Still in 3.2
Comment 5 André Klapper 2021-05-19 12:14:06 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new bug report ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
