Description of Problem:
Import a GnomeCard vcard file only imports a crippled data. Many fields
are missing usually triggered 
by an Umlaut like ü,ö, ä.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. save the following lines in a file:

3. check fields

Actual Results:
First Umlaut ü in Münster stops the conversion.
