GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 273851
Sorting Threaded Message List Chronologically
Last modified: 2013-09-13 00:49:28 UTC
Distribution: Unknown Package: Evolution Priority: Wishlist Version: GNOME2.10.0 2.1 Gnome-Distributor: FreeBSD GNOME Project Synopsis: Sorting Threaded Message List Chronologically Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Mailer Bugzilla-Version: 2.1 Description: Description of Problem: When showing a message list chronologically (Date in descending order, newest on top) and selecting 'Threaded Message List' (Ctrl+T) in the View Menu, the messages are grouped in threads as they should, but sorted by the OLDEST message of the group. This means that an old thread keeps dripping further and further down the message list (and outside the visible area) even though there are brand-new messages added to the thread. In mailboxes with unread messages, you're very likely to be missing new messages or, best case, you'll have to scroll to spot the new messages. In mailboxes with thousands of mails (as in my case), this is a hassle. Suggestion: Sort message groups by the NEWEST mail in the thread Unknown reporter: joachim@bondo.net, changed to bugbuddy-import@ximian.com. Setting qa contact to the default for this product. This bug either had no qa contact or an invalid one.
