Description Stan Gershwin 2004-03-30 00:04:04 UTC
Package: Evolution
Priority: Critical
Version: 1.4.6
Synopsis: Calendar no-show.
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Calendar

Description:
Description of Problem: I can't see the calendar. I just upgraded to
this version, and I started evolution for the first time. When I try to
bring up the calendar, all I get is a blank window labeled "Summary". I
know the calendar is in there somewhere because it knows about today's
appointments.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Upgrade from 1.2.X.
2. Start calendar.
3.

Actual Results: No calendar visible.

Expected Results: Calendar visible.

How often does this happen? Every time I start evolution since I
upgraded it.

Comment 1 Stan Gershwin 2004-03-30 00:16:25 UTC
Clarification: it seems to show the Task screen rather than the
Calendar screen, and I have no tasks. I can't seem to coax it into
showing any version of the Calendar screen (day, work week, week, month).
Comment 2 Stan Gershwin 2004-03-30 16:45:53 UTC
OK. I figured it out.

It turns out that when you go into Calender, you also go into Tasks,
but (at least in my case) the Task window completely covers the
Calendar window. After blundering around for a while, I accidentally
discovered that I could resize the task window and see the Calendar.
(Of course, what I saw at first was a three-year calendar, and I had
to fumble around some more to get something useful.)

Perhaps there is something strange about my setup. If not, then you
really should either document this a little better or change the
default so you see both the Task window and the Calendar window.

Otherwise, this is a great product.
