GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 218872
adding new rss feed crashes executive-summary
Last modified: 2013-09-13 12:31:16 UTC
Package: Evolution Priority: Normal Version: 1.0.1 Synopsis: adding new rss feed crashes executive-summary Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Summary [was My Evolution] Description: I tried adding http://blog.mattgoyer.com/rss.xml as a newsfeed and it crashed. It's an rss file generated by Manila Radio, which is blogging software - lots of websites use it to generate their RSS feeds. Maybe it's malformed, but if so maybe it should catch the error more gracefully. To fix it I have to edit the config files directly before I restart evolution. Unfortunately, through no fault of your own, this trace is pretty useless. If you can reproduce this crash with a specific set of actions, please let us know, and please keep submitting traces- the next one may be the one that helps us fix the bug. Thanks!
Well, every time I've tried adding this particular feed, it crashes, and has done so back since version 0.14 (or whatever the one was before we leaped forward to 0.99). I have not tried adding any other rss feeds from scratch because I haven't found any other ones I like. So it's possible that if you tried adding the same feed, it might crash for you too. If not, it's probably another frustrating mandrake library conflict that won't get fixed until I wipe the hard drive and reinstall...
I repeat the process that you do and i get a worng RDF, then when i click on the tool button to delete it, evo crash and i get this: (no debugging symbols found)...0x40dbe669 in ?? ()
+ Trace 16432
i'm using evo 1.0.0.99 Guys, any ideas?
I'm going to mark this as DUP of #18603 because it has a beter stacktrace. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 218603 ***
