Umm, are people using pop or imap with their autocheck?

From another bug:

------- Additional Comments From dhenderson@fscinternet.com 2001-12-11
12:58 -------

I had previously defined an IMAP mail account (pointing to an HP
OpenMail server), but was having trouble with this, so had removed
the IMAP account. At the time of the crash, there were no mail
accounts defined.

Comment 16 Luis Villa 2001-12-17 18:41:28 UTC
From another bug:
---
I was testing Ximian and Evolution to see if our company could start
using it as our principal Linux desktop. I had enabled automatic mail
retrieval every 10 minutes, and configured all incoming mail settings. I
had not however yet changed our local firewall settings to actually
allow connection from my test host to our mail server.
---

Appears maybe that we aren't handling failure codes?
Comment 17 Not Zed 2001-12-27 10:23:55 UTC
Editing accounts seems to trigger it more, but it doesn't seem to be
necessary, probably another bug actually.

Also, the auto-check period of 10 minutes seems magic. This is also
the imap idle timeout period, so its probably not a coincidence.

Continuing to look.

Comment 18 Not Zed 2001-12-28 12:13:03 UTC
spent all day trying to recreate it. Happened twice, but i dont know
why yet. Definetly seems to be related to simultaneously triggering
autocheck and idle timeout code. But fixing something else seemed to
stop autocheck running at all, so more needed.
