Description Ettore Perazzoli 2001-11-29 21:38:21 UTC
We need something to view the logs for the filters within Evolution.

Probably it should allow expunge of old logs as well, so the logs dont'
keep growing indefinitely like it does now.
Comment 1 Luis Villa 2001-12-19 21:39:03 UTC
Moving rescheduled 1.2 bugs to future en masse; sorry if your bug didn't make
the cut.

Comment 3 André Klapper 2005-07-13 21:48:44 UTC
adding filters keyword.
this is an enhancement, not a bug.
Comment 4 André Klapper 2006-01-05 22:48:30 UTC
i second that at least having a text logfile would be very great.
Comment 5 André Klapper 2006-01-07 00:16:23 UTC
quoting fejj from http://mail.gnome.org/archives/evolution-list/2006-January/msg00060.html:

"All the code necessary for logging filter activity is there, just that
there is no UI to enable it (and specify the log file to dump to). You
might be able to manually enable it using gconf-editor or something.

the keys are:

/apps/evolution/mail/filters/log = { true | false }
/apps/evolution/mail/filters/logfile = "/path/to/logfile"

Jeff"
Comment 6 Matthew Barnes 2008-03-11 00:28:17 UTC
Bumping version to a stable release.
Comment 7 Matthias Apitz 2009-07-19 14:09:53 UTC
Evolution 2.24.5:
The log of the filters is writte to the file configured in
/apps/evolution/mail/filters/logfile, but it is buffered written and changes
are only visible, for example, on exit of Evolution.

Comment 10 André Klapper 2021-05-19 11:13:12 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
