many menu items & toolbar buttons should be disabled when no message is selected
Last modified: 2001-07-23 13:44:03 UTC
Create a situation in which a mail folder is open but no message is selected. Numerous menu items remain enabled, even though they have no meaning without a message to operate upon: File -> Open Message File -> Save As File -> Print Preview File -> Print Message File -> Select Thread Edit -> Cut Edit -> Copy Edit -> Search Message Edit -> Delete Edit -> Undelete Edit -> Mark As Read Edit -> Mark As Unread Edit -> Mark As Important View -> Message Display -> Load Images View -> Hide Selected Messages Actions -> Reply to Sender Actions -> Reply to List Actions -> Reply to All Actions -> Forward Message Actions -> Forward As -> Forward Attached Actions -> Forward As -> Forward Inline Actions -> Forward As -> Forward Quoted Actions -> Forward As -> Redirect (FIXME: implement me) Actions -> Move to Folder Actions -> Copy to Folder Tools -> Create Filter From Message -> Filter on Subject Tools -> Create Filter From Message -> Filter on Sender Tools -> Create Filter From Message -> Filter on Recipients Tools -> Create Filter From Message -> Filter on Mailing List Tools -> Create Virtual Folder From Message -> VFolder on Subject Tools -> Create Virtual Folder From Message -> VFolder on Sender Tools -> Create Virtual Folder From Message -> VFolder on Recipients Tools -> Create Virtual Folder From Message -> VFolder on Mailing List Similarly, the following buttons on the main toolbar should be disabled when there is no selected message: Compose Reply Reply to All Forward Move Copy Print Delete
Forgot one: Actions -> Apply Filters That item should be disabled either when there are no selected messages, or when there are no filters defined.
