Description Jeffrey Stedfast 2000-12-11 20:58:34 UTC
filter/vfolder editors should allow DnD re-ordering
Comment 1 Not Zed 2001-01-05 01:13:14 UTC
Gotta be the most annoying feature ever invented.
Comment 2 Federico Mena Quintero 2001-01-06 18:21:45 UTC
Dude, when you sort a deck of cards, do you push each card up or down in the
stack a single position at a time? No. You take each one and put it directly
where it belongs.

Try ordering 40 folders by pushing them up or down one slot at a time. It is
mightily tedious.
Comment 3 Jeffrey Stedfast 2001-05-28 01:36:33 UTC
I can't seem to find a client that does this? Outlook on Mac doesn't,
nor does Mozilla Mail. I'm not saying not to implement this, what I'm
saying is that it might not be worth our time in the short term.
Plus has anyone outside the company actually complained about this?
Comment 4 Luis Villa 2001-06-22 16:48:55 UTC
For the record, I complained about this when I was outside of the
company.

yeah but you dont put glue on your finger, lay the cards out all on
the table, and pick each one up one at a time and plonk it down in the
right spot - do you?

Shuffling cards is nothing at all like drag and drop.
Comment 7 Peter Williams 2002-07-23 16:18:17 UTC
Maybe a "Send to top" and "send to bottom" button would work better?
Comment 8 Marius Andreiana 2003-05-15 06:39:53 UTC
As someone from outside of ximian, I don't think this is useful. I'm
very happy with alphabetical ordering, which makes it easy to find
vfolders.

There are already the buttons Up/Down to move folders ( which I never
used ).

bug#212600 it's much more important than this - make the default order
in vfolder editor alphabetical too, in time it's becoming a mess.
Comment 9 André Klapper 2005-02-28 22:57:09 UTC
related to having top/bottom buttons, see bug 205616.
Comment 10 André Klapper 2005-08-06 22:12:02 UTC
adding keywords
Comment 11 André Klapper 2012-08-07 10:10:22 UTC
Covered by more generic bug 651270.
