Description Alexander Hunziker 2005-02-18 09:17:36 UTC
I have a .desktop file with the content:

[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Domain
Type=Link
URL=http://www.domain.com/

There seems to be no specific icon for that
Comment 1 Jakub Steiner 2005-03-23 13:09:49 UTC
gnome-globe sounds like a perfect candidate for this. I'm not sure what module
is responsible for assigning such icon, so I'm guessing here. Feel free to put
in the appropriate one.
Comment 2 Alexander Hunziker 2005-03-24 17:21:06 UTC
gnome-fs-bookmark sounds like a good candidate, too...
Comment 3 Kjartan Maraas 2007-02-03 14:23:17 UTC
Can we just agree on one if this is still an issue?
Comment 4 Kjartan Maraas 2008-01-08 11:58:38 UTC
Moving to gnome-icon-theme for comments.
Comment 5 Jakub Steiner 2008-01-15 02:09:35 UTC
This does sound generic and worth including in the naming spec & core themes. Rodney, what do you think?
Comment 6 Alexander Hunziker 2008-07-22 21:59:57 UTC
In Ubuntu Hardy, dragging an URL to Desktop shows it with the icon gnome-fs-bookmark. That's for both firefox and epiphany. The Icon is hardcoded in the .desktop file though:

[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Link to Google
Type=Link
URL=http://www.google.dk/
Icon=gnome-fs-bookmark
Comment 7 Rodney Dawes 2008-07-23 03:27:58 UTC
I think this should be marked a dup of bug #409326 actually. See comment #7 there for why.
Comment 8 Alexander Hunziker 2008-07-23 07:34:49 UTC
a non-authoritative agree from me
Comment 9 Jakub Steiner 2010-03-03 18:02:33 UTC
Marking as duplicate even if this one is older as bug #409326 includes an icon attachment.
