GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 152389
User should be able to drag remote folders to Trash
Last modified: 2005-01-03 00:29:18 UTC
I have a remote connection on my desktop that I created using "Connect To Server...". When I drag it to the trash, a dialog appears that says: "You cannot delete a volume icon. If you want to eject the volume, please use Eject in the right-click menu of the volume." This is unnecessary and unintuitive. I think that if a user drags such a connection to the Trash, he or she obviously wants to remove it from his or her desktop.
There is a proposed patch in bug 154283 that should resolve this issue.
I think this bug is a duplicate of bug 154283, or rather, it is a dupe of this since mine came first. :)

No. This bug is not resolved. The dialog is wrong because there is no 'Eject' menu.
dennis_cranston@yahoo.com: there is already bug 152391 for the Eject/Unmount distinction needed in the error message. Could you rework your patch to fix that bug? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 154283 ***
Created attachment 32813 [details] [review] Proposed Patch.
Dennis, should this patch be moved to another bug? I'm trying to follow the web of dups/deps/etc. here, but I'm afraid I can't make much sense of the situation.
Luis, Moving the patch seems reasonable. I attached it to bug 152391. Thanks.
