GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 145450
Right Clicking of URLs
Last modified: 2006-01-22 07:38:02 UTC
I'd like to see the ability to right click on a URL. This would bring up a menu with the following options: a) Open URL in a Browser b) Copy Link Location Those are the only two I can think of. The second one is the big one, since I don't always want a browser to open a link (like for a music file or something)

Don't pay attention to the last comment - it was a mistake.
b) is fixed. As for a), default behaviour not enough (left click on a link)?
Saying this more for consistency. Look at other Gnome Apps (Terminal, Evolution, etc), when you click on a link, you have the option to both copy link location or to open it. Even the browsers do this.
Hi! Are you talking about left or right click here? I don't use evo nor gnome-terminal so I have no idea what those apps do. Copy link location has been done. As for opening the link, browsers do this to allow the user to open it in a different tab or window. But since Straw doesn't open web pages in the view, the default action for left-click is to open a new browser window. Kindly clear this one up for me because I don't really get it :(
Yes, it is diplicate behavior, but it is what most Gnome apps do, so it would be nice to have this to match other Gnome apps.
