Description Markus Bertheau 2004-05-29 21:37:28 UTC
I have three windows open with a number of tabs in them, the first two on
workspace 2 and the third on workspace 5. When I log out and in again (the next
day) the two windows are on ws 2 and one on ws 5. But the window on ws 5 is not
the right one but one of the first two. The size is also not correctly restored;
the window on ws 5 was not maximized, the others were. After log out in all
windows are maximized. The third window also had on-top set which is not
restored, but that's probably another issue.

From reading the documentation of gtk_window_set_role() I'd have guessed that
it'd be what we need here, but I cannot get metacity to restore windows to
different workspaces no matter what I do. Attaching the patch anyway :)
