GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 142185
Have a choice to enqueue or replace on open
Last modified: 2014-01-22 18:38:30 UTC
Please see the summary. The "Add" button only allows adding of files - not locations.
URLs can be added via the "Open Location..." menu item in the main window.
Opening a URL via the "Open Location..." menu item causes the entire playlist to be lost. I'm talking about adding URLs to the playlist.
Could you explain the use case for this? I don't see what use you would have for this...
You can have playlists of files. I would like to be able to add a stream to my playlist. For example, I have a couple albums I want to listen to queued up, but after they're done playing I would like to listen to DI.fm's Chill stream.
You can already do that by drag'n'dropping the stream on the playlist, or using the "--enqueue" on the command line. I'll change that to the addition of a preference, either enqueue, or replace the current playlist on open.
Mass reassign.

Hi, I've just submitted a new bug "support playback resumption / remembering playback position in file" which I think is related to this RFE. http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447669
With newer GTK+, you can add locations by typing/entering the full URL in the location entry. You might hit bug 432904, but that's a different problem.

An easy fix for someone to handle.

Nobody wrote a patch for this in 10 years, and it doesn't match with the new UI where the playlist is hidden from the user.
