Description Sandro Tormenta 2004-04-16 22:00:10 UTC
After I double-clicked on the program's icon, a black window appears with
multiple signalations of this error : (gimp-2.0.exe:3880):WARNING**: Couldn't
load font "MS Shell Dlg8" falling back to "Sans 8".
The program cannot run.
Comment 1 Sandro Tormenta 2004-04-16 22:05:21 UTC
I have already reinstalled the GIMP but the problem persists!
Without an help I had to abandon this program.
Comment 2 Sandro Tormenta 2004-04-16 22:14:16 UTC
This problem is the same of Bug 140290!
But my bug blocks the program!
Comment 3 Michael Schumacher 2004-04-16 22:23:11 UTC
Bug 140290 is reported against the win32 version of GIMP, so the tips in
http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/faq.html would apply there.

You set the OS filed of this bug report to OpenVMS - does this mean that you are
really using this platform (somehow I doubt this)?
Comment 4 Michael Natterer 2004-05-28 10:37:41 UTC
Setting to NEEDINFO until the reporter specifies the OS.
Comment 5 Sandro Tormenta 2004-05-31 21:20:34 UTC
The OS is Windows XP professional
Comment 6 Michael Schumacher 2004-07-04 06:20:05 UTC
So do the workarounds described in http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/faq.html
help? If so, this is a duplicate

BTW, you seem to have a strange font set for something in your Window GUI -
usually it is Tahoma. Is there something special to your system?
