Description Sarfraaz Ahmed 2004-02-05 12:29:11 UTC
I have these setting for my window list ..

1. Show windows from all workspaces
2. Always group windows
3. Restore to native workspace

Now open up a number of appplication windows, including multiple windows of
the same application. Ex : open up 2 epiphany windows.

Now, if i close one of these epiphany windows, the icons get re-shuffeled
and the solitary epiphany window is moved to some other location in the
window list. This is very confusing, since i need to again search for the
window on the window-list.

I suppose this happens because we the grouped windows are shown before
non-grouped windows.

Moving to the right component. Sorry for the spam.
Comment 5 John Kawakami 2005-10-01 18:12:46 UTC
I didn't know that grouped windows were to the left of ungrouped windows.
That's pretty subtle behavior.

Can the lists and sublists be sorted alphabetically, so the likely location of
common icons is predictable?
Comment 6 Vincent Untz 2007-06-29 19:53:41 UTC
Hrm, in fact, the "reshuffle" bug was just because we didn't use a stable sort order. We're doing this now.

See bug 452350.
