Description Stephen Cameron 2003-07-30 02:18:17 UTC
The gnome panel will crash if you move it to the left side of the
screen, then logout and reboot, then relogin. The panel crashes over
and over. Finally, I logged in as root, and entered ~myaccount
then went to:~/.gconf/apps/panel/profiles/default/panels/bottom_panel
and vi'ed %gconf.xml. On a hunch, I changed

<stringvalue>panel-edge-left

to

<stringvalue>panel-edge-bottom

since changing the location of the panel was something I had
done recently. It worked. So, it seems if you move the panel
to the left, then the panel will crash (over and over and over)
on the next login.
