GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 116931
Instead of popping up an error dialog, show a list of possible addresses for an incorrect address
Last modified: 2018-08-03 19:09:50 UTC
Not sure if these is even possible (maybe some google hackery could work ?). Anyway instead of showing a dialog when the user enters a bad url, it would be really cool to show a list of other possible urls. For instance if a user types: www.gnom.org and assuming that address doesn't exist, epiphany could show a list of possible urls like www.gnome.org www.gnomes.org www.gnome.com www.gnom.com. Anyway I know this is probably not possible right now at all, but i thought it was a nice idea, maybe we can just file it under "FUTURE" :)
Internet Explorer for Windows, version 5.0 and later: http://search.msn.com/dnserror.aspx?FORM=DNSAS&q=gnom.org Discussion: http://news.com.com/2100-1023-272578.html If a vendor-neutral way to implement it could be found, that would be fabulous darling.
The error msg for this should be in-page eventually anyway which will help with this. http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28586
lets thank verisign for implementing this for us :P
Mass reassigning of Epiphany bugs to epiphany-maint@b.g.o
From 1.8 onward Epiphany has error pages when using a gecko 1.8 backend. The error page for a nonexisting domain does not yet suggest alternatives, so maybe that could still be implemented.
still valid.
