GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 102376
TreeView does not expand when browsing files by icon- list view
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
If one browses files via icon- or list view using the nautilus tree view tab the tree does not expand automatically. Perhaps this is a feature, but I think it is a big usability problem. I discovered this problem while hunting bug #48099 (which seems to be a real bug in gnome 1.4)
Rolf, do you mean expand to the directory you're browsing in? I think that's what you mean, but I'm not 100% sure.
More details: If one browse first via the tree view tab and then continue browsing via icon-or list view, the tree does not expand as expected = keeps last tree view browsed location
The error/feature of a non expanding tree tab is also available if one chooses the tree tab on the left and then chooses a folder from the bookmark menu. The tree will not expand along the chosen bookmark folder or highlight the selected folder. Summary: The tree tab does only expand when browsing files and folders using the tree itself. As soon as one uses bookmarks or list/icon view the current folder is not shown and highlighted in the tree tab.
