GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 80294
Title bar wrong tickness for large fonts in some themes
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Hi, I just set up metacity for the first time, and noticed a couple of things. (I'll file a report for each.) I use a big desktop font on a 1600x1200 display. The Crux and Gorilla themes have too small of a title bar given the size of the fonts. I'm going to attach a screenshot taken using the gorilla theme.
Created attachment 8045 [details] Screenshot of the fonts flowing over the edge of the title bar
Indeed, these themes are broken.
The themes or the wm, havoc? [Does your theme spec handle the font size case at all?]
The metacity theme engine provides mechanism for handling font size, some themes are just hosed.

the reason we may want to fix this even though it's not the 'default' theme is that crux is the "GNOME 2.0.0 lookalike" theme, so if someone wants to swap out sawfish for metacity this would be the logical theme to use... also I think the gnome 2 docs are using sawfish+crux. (not that I like crux that much, just an observation ;-)
I fixed Crux wrt large title fonts. I'm not sure about buttons, should they scale too ? see there: http://sebdelestaing.free.fr/metacity/ for the pixels off on the top right see: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87489
Created attachment 9785 [details] [review] Gorilla fixed to scale nicely (including buttons)
Crux fixed (with button scaling too) available at the same adress. http://sebdelestaing.free.fr/metacity/
