Description Wade Berrier 2016-12-19 15:43:41 UTC
It would be great if the keyboard layout was persisted (much like session selection) every time a user logs in.

Upon logging in again, selecting the user would also select the keyboard layout.

This is a feature ChromeOS (maybe other OSes?) have that I think would be great if gdm also had.

This feature is of regular use in my family as two different keyboard layouts are used.
It was present in Unity (ubuntu 16.04), I believe it would be useful for gdm users as well.

I would like to add the following information :

at login, there is the helper with the possibility to have a virtual keyboard.

Fist issue :
This virtual keyboard appears in qwerty regardless of the active layout

Second issue :
When I try to change the layout, the list of layouts is displayed. When I move my mouse to select the layout I want, the virtual keyboard disappears. So I can't change the layout of the virtual keyboard.
